At Fit-Squirrel, we believe sustainability isn’t a destination...it’s a practice. Every design decision, material and partnership is chosen with the goal of creating activewear that performs beautifully, lasts longer and treads lighter on the planet.

We’re not perfect (no one is), but we’re intentional, continually learning, improving and finding ways to reduce harm at every step.

Our Materials

Most activewear today is made from virgin synthetic fibres like polyester and nylon, which are petroleum-based plastics that take centuries to break down. We’re changing that by using recycled post-consumer PET bottles, turning existing waste into new fabric and reducing demand for virgin plastics.

While recycled PET still sheds microfibres, it dramatically cuts energy use and landfill waste compared to new plastic. It’s not flawless... but it’s a meaningful step forward while we explore next-gen, lower-impact materials like biodegradable fibres and closed-loop blends.

Where possible, we also use natural, renewable materials such as organic cotton and bamboo for styles that need breathability, softness and biodegradability.

Ethical Production

Every Fit-Squirrel piece is made by trusted partners who share our values of respect, fairness, and care. Our production facilities provide fair wages, medical insurance and healthy working conditions because sustainability includes the people who make our clothes.

Many of our suppliers use solar and wind power, as well as closed-loop water systems to minimise energy and water waste during production.

Safer Dyes & Certifications

We choose OEKO-TEX® and GOTS-certified dyes, ensuring our fabrics are free from harmful chemicals and safer for your skin as well as the planet. These certifications verify that each stage of production meets strict environmental and social standards.

Longevity & Care

The most sustainable activewear is the one that lasts. We design for durability, versatility, and timeless style, so your pieces stay in rotation longer.

We also encourage mindful washing; cold water, gentle detergent and air-drying to reduce microfibre shedding and extend the life of your garments.
